Preparation stages

Speaker timeline

The main preparation milestones for TechWriter Days — from proposal submission to publication of the final programme schedule.

10 August 2026

Proposal submission deadline

Your talk proposal must be submitted no later than this date. After submission, you will be assigned one or more curators who will help you refine your talk and supporting materials. If you do not yet have a specific topic, please indicate this in the proposal title and prepare several options before your introductory call with the curators. Proposals without a defined topic must be submitted no later than 13 July 2026.

25 August 2026

Curator assignment

By this date, curators will be assigned to all talks. Before a curator is assigned, organisational questions may be asked in the Telegram chat @twd_questions.

14 September 2026

Presentation draft

A content-complete draft is required, even if the design is not yet final. This allows the curator to provide meaningful feedback on structure and slides. If no draft presentation is attached to the submission, a negative decision on your talk may be made before a curator is assigned due to insufficient information.

10 January 2027

Finalisation of talk selection

Selection of talks for the main programme and reserve list is completed. By this date, the speaker profile, talk title, and abstract must be finalised.
A possible additional submission window for specific topics may open from 13 November to 24 November 2026. Only talks on the announced topics will be considered during this period.

22 February 2027

Publication of the final schedule

The final conference programme schedule will be published on the website.

24 February 2027

Final presentation

The final version of the presentation must be uploaded to the designated cloud folder. Workshop facilitators must also provide a list of required handout materials and their layouts, as well as venue requirements (for example, room layout or attendee requirements).

19–20 March 2027

Speaking at TechWriter Days #4

You present your talk, answer questions from participants, and collect Audience Choice Awards.

Important: if no draft presentation is attached to the submission, a negative decision on your talk may be made before a curator is assigned due to insufficient information.

How preparation works

From idea to stage

Preparation is iterative: the list of accepted talks is updated monthly, and curators help shape the material into a strong presentation.

Submit your proposal

Describe the topic, format, and value of your talk for the conference audience.

Work with your curator

Discuss structure, wording, key messages, and the expected outcome for attendees.

Prepare your materials

Submit a presentation draft and refine it based on the curator’s feedback.

Take the stage

Keep track of schedule updates and be prepared for changes, especially if your talk is on the reserve list.

What to prepare

Required materials

Speaker profile

Name, photo, company, country, and city must be finalised by 10 January 2027.

Aa

Title and abstract

Once the materials are handed over to the design team, the printed materials can no longer be changed.

Scheduling constraints

Please inform us about tickets, work commitments, participation in other events, and preferred speaking times.

Presentation draft

By 14 September 2026, you must provide your curator with a content-complete draft, even if the design and illustrations are not yet final.

Final presentation

By 24 February 2027, upload the final presentation file to the cloud folder and follow the presentation guidelines.

Workshop materials

Workshop facilitators must provide a list of required handouts, handout layouts, venue setup requirements, and attendee requirements.

Participation terms

  • A talk accepted into the main programme or reserve list grants one speaker free in-person attendance for both conference days.
  • Travel and accommodation expenses must be covered by the speaker.
  • If a talk has multiple co-speakers, only one speaker receives complimentary attendance.
  • Two colleagues from the speaker’s support team are eligible for a 15% discount on this or any of our 2026 events. Please send the participant list to org@it-conf.com so that we can apply the discount.

Reserve list, rejection, and withdrawal

01Reserve list

Speakers on the reserve list must attend the conference on both days — from opening to closing — and be ready to present at any time.

02Rejection

If a talk is rejected, participation is still available at the price valid on the date the proposal was submitted.

03Withdrawal

If a speaker voluntarily withdraws their talk, the current participation fee applies.
